Bridge Round

A smaller interim raise to extend runway between two larger funding rounds.

A bridge round provides extra capital to reach the milestones needed for the next priced round, often via convertibles or ASAs. It can signal either smart milestone management or trouble raising the next round, depending on context. Founders use bridges to buy time to improve metrics.

Examples

A startup raises a £200k bridge to hit revenue targets before Series A. — Existing investors fund a bridge to support the company between rounds.
