PSC (Person with Significant Control)

An individual who owns or controls a significant share of a UK company, recorded at Companies House.

UK companies must identify and register their PSCs — typically anyone holding more than 25% of shares or voting rights, or who exercises significant influence. The PSC register is public and part of UK transparency rules. Keeping it accurate is a basic compliance requirement investors expect.

Examples

Two founders each holding 45% are registered as PSCs. — A company updates its PSC register after a funding round.
